By six, my head is a kettle. Not angry. Just loud.
I used to read at this hour. Now I read the same line four times, and it’s suddenly twenty past ten.
So: phone in the kitchen, and a grid. It only needs my hands. Twenty minutes and the lid stops rattling. I’ve stopped asking why.
Mrs. Right says it’s because I finally sat down. Annoyingly, she might be right.
